Leighton Buzzard

The ancient market town was mentioned in the Doomesday book but evidence shows that it dates from Saxon times.

The town has a fine market cross dating from 1400 and the 13th century parish church reputedly has the tallest church spire in the country. Some delightful countryside and villages surround the town and Woburn & Ascot House Wing are well worth visiting.

Stockgrove country park has many walks set in woodland. Other walks can be taken along the Grand Union canal and for the more adventurous the Greensand Ridge walk stretches for some 40 miles to Gamlingay.
